The first Kalt in Lvov for whom there are any records is Manele Kalt, who was born in about 1780. The records for this branch of the family come from Lvov birth records found at the Mormon Family History Center, and Lvov records found by Alexander Dunai. Since many Jewish families first took surnames in the late 1700's, it is possible that Manele Kalt was the first Kalt, or at least among the first.
Manele Kalt married Channa Renin on February 12, 1806 in Lvov. He married again, to Rose Herzberg, on April 18, 1816 in Lvov. His occupation was listed in various records as "petty clerk" and "shop assistant".
