Mechel David Sperber and Rachel Weinbach Sperber
Very little information is available about Mechel David Sperber. His 5 sons were born in Sambor between about 1867 and 1881, so he was most likely born between 1835 and 1848. There is no information on the date of his death, but one of his grandchildren, also named Mechel David Sperber, was born in 1920, so the elder Mechel David most likely died before then. There is also no information on the location of his birth, but it was presumably in the area of Sambor.
Mechel David Sperber was married to Rachel Weinbach. Rachel was most likely born between 1840 and 1850. Although the location of her birth is unknown, she was most likely born in or near Sambor or Stryj, as there are a number of Weinbachs listed in vital records for Stryj. She died (in or near Stryj) in the late 1920's or early 1930's. She was listed under other names in various other records--she was listed as "Bleema" on Morris Sperber's death certificate, and "Sarah" on Kalman Sperber's death certificate. Some members of family thought first name was Perl.
Rachel had at least one brother. Her nephew, Elias Weinbach, emigrated to the United States, and lived in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Elias married Sarah Dickler, and they had 4 children, Morris, Jennie, Rose, and Jessy.
Mechel David and Rachel had 5 sons:
As far as is known these are the only 5 children.
